IR. MAHATHIR NOR ISMAIL
Ir. Mahathir is the Managing Director of TNB Engineering Corporation Sdn Bhd (TNEC). He started his career in Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), the parent company of TNEC, as an Operating Engineer in Kedah / Perlis. This was followed by various positions in TNB such as Special Officer to Vice President and General Manager (Distribution) of Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd. His last post before being appointed as Managing Director of TNEC is as a General Manager (Integrated Facility Management) at the Real Estate Ventures Division.
Ir. Mahathir Nor Ismail is an Electrical Engineer graduated from University of Southampton. He also has a Master of Engineering (Electrical Power Engineering) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and a Master of Business Administration from UNITEN / Melbourne Business School.
MUHD ISRAR SYAHRIR SHAARI
Chief Operating Officer
Muhd Israr, began his career with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) as a Performance Engineer at the Sultan Ismail Power Station, Paka, Terengganu. He later involved with the development and asset management of Shuaibah Independent Water and Power Plant in Saudi Arabia. Upon returning from Saudi Arabia, he held various positions in TNB including in the Asset Development Department of Generation Division, Transformation Unit in Energy Ventures Division and as Special Officer (Technical) to the Chief Ventures Officer of TNB.
Muhd Israr holds a Bachelor Degree in Electric Power Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, New York, USA.
NORAZLINDA AZIZ ZUDDIN
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Norazlinda started her career as an audit assistant at KPMG before joining the parent company of TNEC, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), in 2001. She began her journey in TNB as Finance Executive at Distribution Division overseeing various tasks over the years such as account payable, settlement and customer accounts Subsequently, she continues her career advancement in Group Finance, accountable for managing loans, derivatives and business performance. In 2015, she was appointed as TNB Energy Services Sdn. Bhd. (TNBES) Chief Financial Officer and bear the responsibilities until mid 2019. She was appointed as TNEC's CFO since July 2019.
Norazlinda Aziz Zuddin graduated from University of Malaya with Honours in Bachelor of Accountancy. She is a member of Chartered Accountant Malaysia, CA (M) and Chartered Global Management Accountant, CGMA.
CHEN BOON NAM
General Manager, Strategic Planning and Special Projects
Chen Boon Nam joined TNEC in 2018 as the General Manager (Strategic Planning and Special Projects) to spearhead TNEC Group’s local and international projects, corporate and strategic development, mergers and acquisitions as well as investment strategy and appraisal. Prior to joining TNEC, he was the General Manager (Financial Planning), Group Finance Division of TNB. He possess over 30 years of experience in strategic and scenarios planning, financial modeling and financial forecasting, regulatory accounting, business analysis, project financing and modeling, risk management and risk modeling, Integrated Energy Planning (IRP) and power planning and demand forecasting.
He holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and a Master of Business Administration from Ohio University, USA. He is currently a member of the Malaysian Insurance Institute (MII).
AHMAD FIRDAUS MANSOR
Head of Business Development & Marketing
Ahmad Firdaus bin Mansor was appointed as Acting Chief Operating Officer in December 2017. He is responsible for the daily operation of the company, and routinely reports to the Managing Director. He is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all plants including the Technical Support Service team, engineering and project unit of all TNEC’s core business. In his effort to grow the business, a Facility Management unit has been introduced. Before assuming this position, Encik Ahmad Firdaus was the Head of Operations & Maintenance in Operations & Maintenance Department. Prior to joining TNEC in 2013, he was involved in various construction works including substations and mini hydro both locally and in the Middle East.
